The UMass Theater Department gave this 300 year old play a modern twist by setting it as a sitcom being filmed about modern day hipsters in Brooklyn. The production explored the nuanced differences between what happens when the cameras are rolling and what happens when they are down, begging audiences to ask, does Moliere’s critique of social niceties still ring true today?
